Call me nostalgic, but I miss LinkedIn.
Oh sure, it has a glossy new look and is all about updates and adjectives.
But wait – that’s everything that Facebook is that I’m not so interested in…
But when you change and “automagically” make things better, be sure you know what you’re doing!
But first – look here!
Because the basics of LinkedIn remain, I want to make sure you know that the Kindle version of “The Revised LinkedIn Personal Trainer” is free for the next two days!
I wrote about my holiday gift over on the LinkedInPersonalTrainer.com – check it out.
The core of LinkedIn remains – connect to people you know and trust, describe yourself by establishing your personal brand, and reach out to meet people with stellar introductions.
Dropping bells and making changes
But LinkedIn seems eager to drop the parts that had promise but didn’t pan out.
And it keeps trying to add social features – hey – if that’s something that interests you, knock yourself out.
The recent change that doesn’t seem completely thought out is dropping group digest activity for users that don’t visit the group.
You see – taken one way, failing to visit the group means you don’t care about it.
But taken the other way – setting up the group to mail updates means you didn’t have to visit the group…
Hmmm… Maybe LinkedIn doesn’t care about users that don’t visit the site as often…
Amazon Prime lending library
Oh – yeah – that’s the other half of my holiday gift – the revised book is going to stay on the Amazon lending list, so Prime members can borrow it without cost.
Have at it;-)
To your continued success,
