Back in August, Sun Microsystems went through a restructuring in which it laid off about 1,000 workers. As Sun Java evangelist Pratibha Malhotra wrote in his blog, LinkedIn was one of the essential tools that employees used to prepare for potential layoffs, making sure that they had ways to connect with each other after they left Sun.
In comparison with blogs which is a great means for creating relationships, Linkedin is an amazing means to solidify them.
