Welcome to this week’s episode of Extreme LinkedIn Profile Makeover. This week we’ll be getting to know Doug Hanna. Doug has been the business channel editor here at b5media for a little over a year. Meanwhile, he’s been working on a stealth-mode internet startup which is now taking up the bulk of his time. He’ll still be blogging at Service Untitled and b5media will be announcing a new business channel editor some time in the next few days.
But today, we’re here to look at Doug’s LinkedIn profile. Here’s the PDF so you can follow along if you’re not within three degrees of Doug. Here are my thoughts for Doug — I invite you to share yours in the comments as well.

Welcome to this week’s episode of Extreme LinkedIn Profile Makeover, where we help LinkedIn users touch up their profiles to attract more business.
Our subject this week is Katie Felten. In case you don’t have access to Katie’s profile, here’s a PDF of it which has about 98% of what I’ll be covering.
Here are my thoughts for Katie — I invite you to add your own in the comments.

Last week I announced the start of Extreme LinkedIn Profile Makeover, and the response was overwhelming. 13 people have already signed up, so it’s obvious I’m going to have to do it a little more frequently than monthly, as I had originally planned.
I also want to make clear that I hope this will become a community effort, not just my personal opinion. It works better that way. No matter how good my advice is, I’m still only one person, and I have biases and tastes, just like anybody else. I invite you to post your additional thoughts in the comments or on your own blog.
So let’s get started! Our first volunteer is Fernando Arámburu, a “.NET consultant, OO consultant, owner and technopreneur” from Argentina. He also writes the excellent Thoughts about the future of LinkedIn blog.

UPDATE: This is no longer being offered. I leave the message in tact because I don’t believe in creating broken links.
In the 4+ years that I’ve been using LinkedIn, one thing I have learned for sure — one thing that crosses all philosophical approaches to using LinkedIn — is the value of a good profile. Guy Kawasaki’s Extreme Profile Makeover was a smash hit in the blogosphere, and my additional commentary was one of my most popular posts.
Of course, not everyone is Guy Kawasaki and has access to LinkedIn UI designer Mike Lin, but the vast majority of LinkedIn’s 12 million user could stand an extreme makeover (or at least a little touch-up) of their profiles.
